The Gar was designed as a mini fillet knife for use in all aspects of fishing from removing scales and deboning to skinning and making thin cuts of meat.  This blade also lends itself to other light butchery tasks such as breaking down fowl and small game as well as trimming and slicing fruits and vegetables.
